On 28th September 2022, Honourable GOC Hyderabad, Major General Dilawar Khan visited the National Center for Robotics and Automation - Condition Monitoring Systems (NCRA-CMS) Lab at Mehran University of Engineering and Technology. He was welcomed by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Tauha Hussain Ali, Former Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aslam Uqaili, Co-Principal Investigator Prof. Dr. Tanweer Hussain Phulpoto, and Engr. Muhammad Zakir Shaikh. He was briefed on the lab's indigenous solutions for modernizing Pakistan's railway sector and reducing accident risks. He also visited USPCAS-W, interacting with students and faculty, and appreciated the NCRA-CMS team's efforts, urging everyone to contribute towards the nation's progress and prosperity.
This lab is a collaboration between MUET and NEDUET, with the goal of conducting cutting-edge research and development in the field of Condition Monitoring Robotics System Lab (HRR) at NED University and (CMS) at Mehran University. HRR focuses on designing Haptic/Tele-robotic interfaces (for Disaster Management and Medical Applications) and STEM-based Education/Assistive Robots. In CMS, we aim to develop national level predictive maintenance prototype solutions that can monitor different parameters in a plant for possible maintenance before going into worst condition (i.e., shut down). Scope of the CMS is transport infrastructure i.e., Railway and Road. These works will culminate with high quality research, innovation, commercialization and consultation. MUET and NEDUET jointly contribute their expertise and resources to this collaborative effort, ensuring the success and impact of the (CMS) Lab.
